What kind of insurance should I look to take out when I come to Spain?
It all depends on if you are moving to Spain on a permanent basis or if you have a holiday home and only spend part of your time here. There are many products on offer so your best option is to contact MiVida Insurance who can source all of the above for you and advise you on the best options.

If the building where I live has community insurance, do I have to take out any additional insurance for my property?
Yes, the community insurance normally only covers the building and communal area. It will not include things such as windows or doors and does not include fittings and contents in the interior of the property. MiVida Insurance will be able to assess your needs and advise you on exactly what you will need to cover.
If I relocate to Spain and have Healthcare cover under the State Health system, do I need to take out additional cover?
It is always advisable to take out additional cover which is economical and gives you a much wider choice of doctors, hospitals and clinics and can also cover dental treatment which is not covered under the Spanish health system. With private medical insurance, you can choose doctors who speak English and have a wider choice of specialists should the need arise and avoid the need to wait for treatment.
