Better terms and conditions for our mortgage in 2007

It was first announced last October and last Friday the Council of Ministers took another step towards approval of the new proposal for changes to Mortgage Legislation. The last hurdle before we can all enjoy the benefits this will bring is for it to be brought before Parliament for their vote to make it law.

If you are thinking of signing a mortgage during the course of this year, it may be worth your while waiting until this new legislation comes into force as the savings in notary, registry fees and taxes may be considerable.

And for those of you who’ve managed to save some money and want to reduce your outstanding loan, you may be looking at better conditions which will reduce the commission payable on early redemption.
