Official Data put Spain’s GDP up 0.2% in second quarter
Spain confirmed its timid recovery from recession on Thursday with 0.2% growth in the second quarter, final official data showed.
The figure, which confirmed provisional data issued by the National Statistics Institute (INE) on August 13, follows growth of 0.1% in the first quarter when Spain emerged from recession.

British murder suspect arrested in Marbella
ONE of Britain’s most-wanted fugitives has been caught on the Costa del Sol.
Police say the accused is thought to have been involved in a murder at gunpoint in 2006 and had a European Arrest Warrant over his head.

FOREIGN tourists in Spain spent an average of 90 euros a day last month, claims the ministry of industry and commerce.

Heatwave nearly over but Andalusia and Canary Islands still on alert
The Spanish met office has reduced its heatwave ‘orange alert’ (high risk) to just seven provinces in the Canary Islands and Andalusia today, where temperatures of over 40ºC are expected and puts only eight other provinces on ‘yellow alert’ (risk) for temperatures in excess of 38ºC.
